Move over FOMO, there\u2019s a new syndrome in town and this time it\u2019s FOBU aka The Fear Of Breaking Up.<\/p>\n
FOBU is a common relationship dilemma caused when someone in a miserable, dead-end relationship becomes more afraid of the projected pain and inconvenience of a breakup than they are of the actual, often greater, pain of staying in an unsatisfying relationship.<\/p>\n
Listen, we\u2019ve ALL been there.\u00a0 It\u2019s usually easier <\/i>to stay with the devil you know but who wants easier? Here are three signs that you have FOBU\u2026<\/p>\n
You fight – EVERY DAY. <\/b>If you\u2019re constantly fighting with your partner and yet you\u2019re still with each other then it\u2019s time to start asking yourself WHY?<\/p>\n
Despite being unhappy – you think this is the only person for you. <\/b>Do you think there\u2019s no point in leaving your current partner because you think that no one else will put up with your little foibles? Or if the thought of getting back in the dating game strikes fear in to you? You have FOBU!<\/p>\n
You dream about ending your relationship. <\/b>If you rehearse your break up talk or you start thinking about all those things you can do as a single lady then it\u2019s probably time that you need to get out of the relationship. The longer it goes on, the worse it\u2019ll get.<\/p>\n
So what can you do to get over FOBU? I\u2019m afraid the only answer is that you need to (wo)man up! It\u2019s not fair on either of you to be in a relationship that\u2019s not 100% so bite the bullet, realise that you\u2019re both going to be happier in the long run and end things. Life is way too short to spend your life with someone who doesn\u2019t push all the right buttons.<\/p>\n
