The world is seemingly moving at a faster pace. Everywhere you turn, the pace is quick. Deadlines are moved up, workload is increased, schedules are packed, to-do lists are long, housework never ends \u2013 it\u2019s chaos.<\/span><\/p>\n

At least it feels this way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Has the world really sped up? Are there more things happening today than 50 years ago? No, and no.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some things around us may involve more pressure and feel like it\u2019s moving faster, but many times it only feels this way. Thanks to the Internet and rolling tv news we hear about everything that happens, immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our interconnectedness through technology has helped create the illusion of a faster paced world. It\u2019s also created the illusion of less loneliness and isolation \u2013 but there\u2019s nothing that can replace real life connections with other people. Physical contact and interaction is vital.<\/span><\/p>\n

This loss of contact and the perceived pace of the world produces a feeling of chronic anxiousness and a decrease in the ability to find pleasure in some of the simple things.<\/span><\/p>\n

So when was the last time that you stopped and slowed down and actually enjoyed your relationships?<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re scrambling around, trying to fit each other in to a busy diary and it seems like an administrative nightmare, then perhaps now is not the time to be dating? Or maybe you just need to slow down and start enjoying relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyone needs to shut down from time to time so make a big effort to spend more time enjoying your relationships. But remember, it\u2019s not just about being there, you\u2019ve also got to be present.
