I\u2019ve been with my boyfriend for 3 months and he\u2019s really good mates with his ex. They talk all the time and he even sends her messages when we\u2019re together. They broke up around 6 months ago and he says that he\u2019s no longer interested in her but I feel jealous.

\nIt\u2019s natural that you feel jealous. In most circumstances when they split up, couples tend to go their separate ways and avoid each other because of the way that the relationship ended. It\u2019s rare that they are able to stay friends when they\u2019ve recently broken up, but it\u2019s not necessarily a bad thing.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve obviously already brought this subject up with him if he\u2019s told you that he\u2019s over her but why don\u2019t you ask him how he would feel if it was you who was friendly with your ex.<\/p>\n

But it comes down to trust. If you trust him enough then his word should be enough to dispel your fears about him being unfaithful. She\u2019s part of his past and they\u2019ve got shared memories but that doesn\u2019t mean that they\u2019ll ever want to go back to being in a relationship.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d advise steering clear of asking him to cut her out of his life completely after all, if they\u2019re friendly and he wanted to go back, then he probably could have by now anyway.<\/p>\n

Just ask him to cut it back a little, especially when he\u2019s with you or maybe get to know her yourself. After all, you may like her.<\/p>\n
