\"f5abfe970f45fa2b03bb43cc903122fe\"<\/a>\u00a0It\u2019s an age old question\u2026just how long do you wait before you have sex with a new partner? Is three dates ok? Three weeks? Three months? But what about the ultimate taboo of sleeping with a man on the first date?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an issue that sees people divided. There’s the camp that think by putting out on the first date you\u2019re just highlighting that you\u2019re easy but then there\u2019s the camp that think life is too short so why wait? So in theory there’s no easy answer.<\/p>\n

A magazine survey earlier this year, which spoke to a 1000 people aged between 18 and 35, showed that 38.6 per cent of women and 44.4 per cent of men had had sex on a first date. 34.5 per cent of women \u2013 and 57.6 per cent of men \u2013 also said they knew couples who started their romance by having sex on the first date.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s interesting to note that of the women surveyed there was some sort of stigma attached to jumping in bed with a new partner after the first date, with a staggering 82.6% of them saying they thought that men thought less of a woman who had sex on a first date.<\/p>\n

Of those surveyed 63.5 per cent said they wanted to have sex on a first date but didn\u2019t go through with it because they didn\u2019t want their date to get the wrong idea.<\/p>\n

However, 67 per cent of guys admitted that they \u201cabsolutely don\u2019t\u201d think any less of a woman who has sex on a first date.<\/p>\n

So you can see why people are confused right?<\/p>\n

Surely it’s down to personal choice and whether the time is right, and if it\u2019s right then its right. For every woman who sleeps with someone on a first date and ruins their chance of a relationship there\u2019s a woman who had sex on the first date and are still with that man.<\/p>\n

It maybe worth considering holding off because who has ever met anyone who has ever said, \u2018I wish I slept with somebody earlier,\u2019 but I’m sure that we all know a lot of people who have said, \u2018I wish I hadn\u2019t done it so quickly.\u2019<\/p>\n

You by avoiding sleeping with a guy on the first date you save yourself the misery of regretting your actions if they don\u2019t call.<\/p>\n
