Originally from the Lake District, now living in Surrey (15 mins from Waterloo), having detoured, travelled and worked extensively around the world - in hot and steamy places including Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Alaska (freezing), Europe (inclement), Chicago, San Francisco and New York (nice).

I guess I am well educated as I gained a scholarship to a private school aged 11 and passed/fluked most of my exams along the way including piano, cycling proficiency and a degree in classical English Literature and Fine Art.

I am very creative and artistic and love the arts, whether it be watching an inspirational movie, visiting a cool gallery or trying to make something with my hands. I love words and literature which means I am a damn fine talker too. I try and buy original contemporary paintings if I can afford them and I do have some nice contemporary furniture (from ebay!). I have written articles for the internet and have BBC recommendations on my work.

I prefer dates to email chatting, wine to beer, and Autumn to Spring. I have no emotional baggage, no ex wife and no children hiding in the closet which may come as a relief to a potential girlfriend.

I am interested in lots of things so feel free to ask. I will have a crack at anything, especially if it is dangerous or risky, except quad biking with is a near-death experience! I do love the outdoors as well as urban living, cosmopolitan life and great art and design.

Life isn't always so serious and I love to laugh. I think I'm pretty well sorted, have a great career and a good lifestyle. I'm great fun to be with and very happy with life. All uncomfortably subjective this - phew!

Dislikes are few and far between but when doing shopping in the local supermarket, the single person has to unload, conveyor belt, get the divider down and pack, nectar card and pay - all within 120 seconds.

Ex professional ski instructor and able to save people on steep mountains but for occasional holidays only. I prefer spa hotels in Indonesia now.
