Lists seem to be the order of the day, so, with a big pinch of salt:

- I think I'm quite intelligent but try to appear smarter by affecting a world-weary air and laughing at my mean-spirited, agenda-driven jokes. Friends and family can testify to this. But they still find time for me, bless them - I even got socks for Christmas

- I'm open to an unsatisfying fling but would prefer a long-term, spirit-crushing relationship with someone who will eventually become cooly hostile as it is slowly revealed that I cannot meet every unfulfilled need you've ever had; although, hopefully the journey will be long and we will have wandered glassy-eyed into Alzheimer's territory by the time these revelations are laid bare

- I'm not into fighting, sulking, cheating, clothing accoun ts, credit cards, clubbing (yes, both types), artificial nails or poor grammar. My biggest pet peeve is people whose vocabularies are as bad as, like, whatever

- Sometimes, I don't say what I'm thinking. When this happens, I need someone who understands I'm not being detached, merely distinguishing myself from the mad lady who confides in her cats (no offence feline fans)

- My young son's favourite joke is 'Never buy shampoo, always demand the real poo.' Of course, this is because it talks of poo; if it had the word 'bum' in it, he'd be hospitalised for laughter-induced injuries

There we have it. The case for the defence rests*; let the prosecution commence. Be gentle.
